You can add a type of document as 'edited book' where the slot for Author would be replaced by Editor.

This is actually a good idea. In my collections, I have to manually put editors' names in the authors field to avoid the frustrating "Unknown" situation.

When a work has an editor rather than an author (e.g. an essay collection), this should appear in place of the currently used 'Unknown' descriptor, which is inaccurate and frustrating when trying to organise collections alphabetically by authors/editors. Can the editor name be listed when the work is a collection or when an editor name is provided and an author name is absent?
