It would be very useful to not only have SmartCite insert citations in the standard way, but also such as: "XYZ (2019) showed that...". In Papers3, one could for instance only insert the year of the publication with the citekey when generating the bibliography. Without such a feature, SmartCite is actually lagging behing the Citation possibilites that were available in Papers3.

Important! Also other types of in-text citation modifications, like Author (Year, pg. 3) or other prefixes and suffixes
