File management replaces ":" with "Unknown" in naming file

I use the file management feature with a filename convention which includes the title. I've noticed if I have a paper with a title like "Technique Name: a technique for doing x, y and z" then the file is saved as "Technique NameUnknown a technique for doing x, y and z".
I'm guessing this is because (at least on Mac) a filename can't include a colon. Could it just be ignored so the file is saved as "Technique Name a technique for doing x, y and z"?
I'm using macOS Mojave 10.14.6 and Papers v4.0.2-beta.1
