There are a few common issues that have come up for users making the switch from Papers 3 to the new ReadCube Papers.
1. I don't see "Import from Papers 3" in the new desktop File menu.
Check to make sure that Papers has permission to access Finder via MacOS Security. Go to your Systems Preferences > Security & Privacy > Automation and then make sure Finder is checked for both Papers 3 and Papers.
2. Red triangle icons beside items in your library
Importing your PDFs is the last step in the transition between Papers 3 and the new app. The red triangle symbol indicates that the upload was interrupted. Don't panic! If you quit and relaunch the Papers app (keeping Papers 3 open), it will pick up where it left off and you'll be on your way again.
You'll want to make sure that you've set your power settings so that your library isn't going to go to sleep. It's also recommended that you have your computer plugged in. Below are the optimal settings for that panel for the import process:
3. Items in the library are jumping all over the place
We are still importing items into your library. Please give it a bit more time to work its magic. You can leave the desktop app open (Papers can be minimized) and just let it run. In the meantime, you can work in our web app.
4. My lists are empty!

If possible, please send a copy of your logs with your email to us. To find those, restart the desktop app and proceed to Help > Show Logs. This will show you in your finder where that file is. Just attach that to your email to us so we can review it to see what's going on.
